At the outset, I would like to mention a disclaimer relevant to my review of KYA SUPER KOOL HAI HUM (KSKHH) : Any resemblance or reference to a sexual innuendo is purely unintentional and owes its origin to my watching KSKHH!
One of the first few pokes (sorry, that should read as jokes) is something like this: One of the two lead male artistes (Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh) stares at a hoarding for sanitary napkins and the other asks him why he is looking at that irrelevant hoarding when the answer pops out, “I am going through a bad period!” Did u laugh? Did you cringe in disgust? Or take Anupam Kher’s name in the movie : Francis Marlowe (pronounced as Maar Lo) and his wife’s name, Rosemary Marlowe (pronounced as Roz Meri Maar Lo). Did u let out a chuckle? Did you squirm in your seat?
Add to the above clowns like Chunky Pussy (sorry, that should read as Chunky Pandey) and a sub-plot featuring Riteish Deshmukh’s dog playing the role of Vicky Donor to impregnate bitches in wet (oops, that should read as vet) rooms. Add more SMS type double entendre jokes, shapely and scantily clad heroines Nahi Sharmana (that should read as Neha Sharma) and Sarah Jaane Diya (sorry, that should read as Sarah Jane Dias), hideous comments about physical features like complexion, and show the heroines hungrily lusting for you know what while playing the Devdas song “Dil Dola Re” in the background (to be understood as Dildo La Re)! Spruce this cocktail with inanities and puerilities and you have a rough idea of KSKHH turns out to be. It is certainly not family fare and not for kids: no surprise that the censors have given it an A rating.
There have been a few fun laden sexual comedies; the original HANGOVER is an excellent example of an enjoyable movie of such a genre. KSKHH does raise a few laughs now and then thanks to the excellent comic timing between the lead actors, Tusshar and Riteish, but the writer and director Sachin Maardi (sorry, that should read as Sachin Yardi) has treated the whole script in a superficial , insensitive and inane manner that makes me wonder why the censor board did not give it an I rating (only for Imbeciles)! Despite this, Ekta and Shobha Kapoor, the producers of KSKHH are perhaps laughing all the way to the bank, muttering under their breath about their cheering audience : Kya Super Fool Ho Tum!!
